Results of Community Investigation Carried out in Bazum and Vanadzor Neighborn
Between October – November 2002, the Armenian Assembly of America’s NGO Training and Resource Center measured social capital by collecting objective information on infrastructure in Bazum and Vanadzor neighborhoods of the city of Vanadzor, as well as conducting a public opinion poll among 600 families in these neighborhoods. Data obtained on community needs, community leaders, existing human capacities and suggestions made by those polled, will be framed within a to-be-announced community empowerment grants program, thus encouraging cooperation between community members, local authorities, NGOs, private sector and mass media to implement collaborative projects to meet community needs.

The Challenges of Psychological and Social Service NGOs and the Issue of Professional Licensing
Information collected and analyzed by “Practical Psychologists Association” NGO with AAA NGO Center research grant #04NGORGP02/02). The main goal of the research grant was to identify the challenges psycho-social service providing Armenian NGOs are facing and the need for licensing in overcoming these challenges. Fifty-seven Yerevan, Giumry and Vanadzor based NGOs with missions indicating the provision of similar services were selected for this purpose.
